Review: Esquires Coffee rebrands in Letchworth

Esquires Coffee

Esquires Coffee in Letchworth has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is now sporting a shiny, new look. I’ve been peering in the window when passing, watching it take shape. I visited for the first time this week and, wow, what a difference!

The old decor was pretty tired, and the cafe was definitely in need of some tlc. The refurb has completely changed the whole ambience. It is light and airy, with lots of natural wood and funky lighting.

Each table has its own little chalk board with a message on it, along with pretty fresh flowers – a really nice touch. There are plenty of tables, with a few comfy sofas and armchairs to relax in. If you’re enjoying a solo trip out, there’s also a magazine rack stocked with plenty of good stuff to read.

The menu is really varied. There’s a cabinet where you can grab a panini or soup, and there is also a brunch and lunch menu above the counter.

My mum had smashed avocado on toast, which she really enjoyed. The side salads came with sun-dried tomatoes which were tasty. The coffee and hot chocolate were good. We didn’t try them but the cakes look delicious. The cost was around £14 for two hot drinks and two meals, which is fairly standard.

Esquires Coffee benefits from a great location on Leys Avenue, so the views out are nice, and there are a few tables outside ready for when the warmer weather arrives.

Overall, we were really impressed and I will definitely be making regular visits from now. Congrats Esquires on a great reopening!
