Review: Sukawatee Thai restaurant in Hitchin

by Natalie
Sukawatee, Thai restaurant, Hitchin

Thai food is one of our favourite cuisines, and we were really sad when Thai Garden in Letchworth suddenly closed. Sukawatee in Hitchin quickly became our go-to Thai. The quality of food served is consistently good, with plenty of flavour and fresh vegetables.

The menu offers all the usual suspects from both Thai and Malaysian cuisines: tasty curries, tofu, fish, noodles, rice etc. If you like it hot, plenty of the dishes have a bit of a kick. Watch out for the Thai green curry. Hot hot hot!

Sukawatee is located on Hermitage Road in Hitchin and is only small. You could easily walk past it! If you’re planning to eat here, especially on a Saturday, you’ll need to book in advance. Expect typical wooden Thai decor with a lovely, traditional feel.

You can also order takeaway and it’s worth noting that there is a 20% discount midweek on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays if you collect. Delivery is free in Hitchin but there is a small additional charge if you live a little further out (only £2 or £3, definitely worth it!).

If you love Thai and Malaysian food, Sukawatee is definitely worth a visit. Please let me know in the comments below if you’ve been.
