Sorry I’m a bit late in wishing you a Happy New Year. I took a little break from writing for the blog over Christmas and New Year but now that school is back in full swing, I am ready to get back on it.
Introducing this month’s theme – Positive Vibes
How are you feeling about 2018? January is meant to be a bit of a dreary month, where we all feel a bit depressed and have no money. Is that you? If so, then I want to give you a bit of a pick-me-up, which is why the theme for this month is all about Positive Vibes and helping you to get into a healthy mindset for the year ahead.
I actually love the New Year. I’ve just had my birthday (37, gulp) and January always feels like a real fresh start. I also love making resolutions. I’ve seen a lot of people ditching resolutions this year, saying they only make you feel bad about yourself by highlighting why you’re not good enough.
For me, it isn’t about that at all. I like the process of making resolutions. It actually focuses my mind on the positives rather than the negatives, and makes me really think about how to make the most of the year ahead. It’s not about improving yourself because you’re rubbish, it’s about making sure you’re making the most of what you have.
So we’re going to try and keep a positive attitude here on the blog, to drag you out of those pesky January blues. Bring it on.
Coming up this month on the blog…
If you have made resolutions, I’m sure fitness is on your list. It’s certainly on mine. I’ve been pretty good at getting my butt to a regular yoga class at the gym but my cardio is woefully non-existent. In last year’s survey, I asked you what you’d like to see more of on the blog, and fitness was one of your top choices, so it’s obviously important to you.
I aim to please, so for the past few months, I’ve been working on an exciting collaboration to bring you some home workouts created exclusively for Mums Off Duty by a brilliant personal trainer. I’m so excited to launch this, and I really hope you’ll join in, get involved and share with your friends. It will be so much more fun if we do it together. More info to come, please keep your eyes peeled for the teaser video. Eek!
I’ve also got some great guest posts lined up and other collaborations in the pipeline, so I’m feeling super excited and optimistic about the blog this year. As ever, if there’s something you’d like to see on Mums Off Duty, please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
Happy New Year lovelies, I hope you have a very happy and healthy 2018.
Love,
Natalie x
