Ah, clubbing. Do you remember those carefree days of dancing the night away with your girlfriends, waving your glow sticks wildly in the air? Felt good, right? Newsflash! Even though you’re a ‘sensible’ mum now, there are still ways to enjoy the buzz you used to get from a good night out on the tiles (omg I sound old). Have you heard of Clubbercise?
What is Clubbercise?
Clubbercise classes seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment. The Clubbercise website describes the classes as ‘simple, fun, dance fitness routines using glow sticks to club anthems from ‘90s classics to the latest chart hits’. (I’m not sure I’d recognise anything from today’s charts but I’d give it a go!)
If you’re not keen on the bright lights you get in fitness studios, then here’s the good news. These classes are held in darkened rooms with disco lights, so there is absolutely no need to feel self-conscious. Some classes even have UV lights so if you’re feeling up for it, you can have some fun with your outfit.
Not the next Ashley Banjo? No worries. The moves are simple enough for everyone to follow, and there are high and low impact options so you can go at your own pace.
The benefits
- You’ll burn around 500 calories an hour.
- Dancing with glow sticks gives your arms a really good workout. Bye bye bingo wings.
- You’ll tone your muscles. Hello sexy summer legs.
- No hangover. (This has to be the best bit! Hangovers these days are just so so bad).
