When the opportunity arose to review the very beautiful Sudio Nivå wireless earphones (kindly gifted to me by the lovely people at Sudio), I was super excited to try them out.
I don’t mind admitting to being a little dubious about wireless ear buds. Yes, they look pretty and I love the idea of not having any wires flapping around my head, but do they actually work? Will the sound be good quality? Will the connection drop? Are they comfortable to wear? So many questions!
Before you invest, here is my honest review of Sudio’s Nivå wireless earphones. If after reading, you’d like to try them out for yourself (or any other product from the Sudio website for that matter), I have a special discount for you.

Who is Sudio?

Sudio is a Swedish audio company. I admit I hadn’t heard of them before but the website was super sleek and all the products were great to look at, so I was excited to find out more. The aesthetics and design of Sudio as a brand reminds me a lot of Apple – simple, understated and very, very Instagrammable.
According to the website, the name Sudio comes from combining ‘Swedish’ and ‘audio’. As a company, Sudio promises clean, elegant Swedish design with exceptional sound quality.
Sudio’s Nivå wireless earphones

Well, aren’t these pretty? Sudio’s Nivå earphones were their first truly wireless option. There is now an updated version in the Tolv with a few improvements in design and functionality but these come at a slightly higher price point. The Nivå costs £89 while the Tolv costs £99.
In the Nivå, the right bud is the master and sends the signal across to the left bud. You can choose from black, white or pastel pink.
Set up and fit
The earphones arrived very promptly after ordering, and the unboxing really felt like I was unboxing an Apple product – which is always a good thing!
The first thing you need to do is make sure they fit comfortably in your ears. Nivå comes with a variety of different sized ear tips so you can find the right size for your ears. I started with the medium but the right one fell out so I had to switch to the smallest.

I was dubious as to what they would feel like in my ear but they are actually very comfortable. You wear them so they sort of fit in the nook of your ear – they don’t hang down like some other wireless buds do. This gives them extra support and is quite a nice, compact design.
I was concerned as to how easy the earphones would be to set up, but I needn’t have worried – it was so simple. You press the buttons on each earbud for 3 seconds until it flashes blue and then connect via Bluetooth on your phone. Worked first time!
Controls
The controls are very simple. Each bud has a button – one click to pause music or pick up a call, and two clicks for next song or to switch to device. Hold both buttons for six seconds to turn off.
The buttons give a decent click so you know for sure when you’ve pressed it, and I didn’t find this uncomfortable on my ears.
How long does the charge last?
The earbuds charge neatly in their case via USB. A little magnet makes sure they are in correctly which makes it nice and easy.
Sudio states that you can get 3.5 hours play time per charge – I haven’t tested that out yet but I’ll update this when I have! A quick charge of 10 minutes gives one hour of play time.
Listening to music
Wireless buds rely on the Bluetooth connection from the phone to the master bud, and then the connection from the master bud to the second bud.
For these reasons, wireless are probably never going to sound quite as good as wired but I was really pleasantly surprised by these. I think the sound quality of the Nivå is very good, and I could very happily listen to these for a couple of hours.
Now I’m no audio expert, and there are probably sound technicians out there who may say these are a bit heavy on the treble. However, for my general everyday listening and enjoyment, I think these are great.
Can you exercise in them?

They are not sweatproof – Sudio offers special sweatproof headphones especially designed for exercise – but I did go for a cheeky little run in them and they were fine. The right bud fell out once but I hadn’t yet put the correct ear tips on (too keen!) so that probably explains why.
If you want to exercise regularly and use earphones, I would recommend buying the Tretton which is specifically designed for this purpose. As comfortable as the ear buds are, I’m just not sure how secure they would be with too much jumping around.
Making a phone call
When I switched from listening to music to making a phone call, I found I had to turn the volume up a little. The person on the other end reported that I sounded clear – not quite as much clarity as when I’m on my phone directly of course – but pretty decent for wireless.
Overall

It’s certainly a lovely feeling to be free of wires. Very liberating! I think Sudio’s Nivå is a really great option for a mid-priced pair of wireless earphones.
If you don’t want to pay out for Airpods, I would definitely recommend giving these a go. The sound quality is very good for wireless buds, they worked first time, they’re comfortable (once you get the right fit), they’re simple to use, and they also look great.

these look excellent – my husband uses wireless headphones but I’ve not tried them – these look excellent and pleased to hear they’re comfy
So does my hubby – he loves them. I was dubious to start with but now I think they’re fab.
What a perfect read. I am actually looking for new earphones to try. And this sounds something that I would really love. I need to take a look with this.
Ah thank you, hope it’s helpful.
Oh wow I am loving the design and colour wave of these headphones – I’m always nervous that if I got wireless ones they would fall out as I have such small ears lol – but love the look of these ones

That’s what I was worried about – small ears here too! But you can switch the ear tips so that they fit snugly. I love the pink too x
